The Catalyst Manufacturing Science and Engineering Center promotes innovative research in the manufacturing of catalysts and educates undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in theoretical tools and engineering applications. The center develops new technologies for efficient catalyst manufacturing and provides research, development, and education resources for industry.

Where Biology Becomes Medicine: The center's mission is to make fundamental discoveries in biomedical research, develop new technologies, and translate these to improve human health. CABM scientists perform research, train students, interact with industry, and enhance the research environment through shared facilities and collaborations.

The Center for Advanced Energy Systems (CAES) is a multidisciplinary center dedicated to the creation, development, and promotion of new technologies and practices in the field of energy systems. The center's mission includes the dissemination of knowledge through education and technology transfer, and providing leadership in shaping present and future of energy policy in the state and nation.

The Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) tackles some of the country’s most pressing infrastructure challenges, especially those that are endemic in high-volume multimodal corridors like the Northeast. The center's research focuses on preserving, rehabilitating, and improving infrastructure; boosting network resilience; reducing life-cycle costs; and increasing mobility and safety.

The Center for African Studies (CAS) promotes the teaching of Africa through curricular and faculty development and offers a minor and graduate certificate in African studies. CAS also promotes the study of African languages, and the Model African Union, a participatory course that culminates in a national student summit in Washington, D.C.

The Center of Alcohol and Substance Use Studies (CAS) in the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology is a multidisciplinary institute dedicated to substance use research, education, and training. CAS researchers and educators provide expertise on alcohol and other substance use topics for the public through local, national, and international media outlets.

The Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP), a unit of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers, is nationally recognized as the leading source of scholarly research and current data about women’s political participation in the United States. Its mission is to promote greater knowledge and understanding about the role of women in American politics, enhance women's influence in public life, and expand the diversity of women in politics and government. CAWP’s education and outreach programs translate research findings into action, addressing women’s under-representation in political leadership with effective, intersectional, and imaginative programs serving a variety of audiences. 

Housed within the New Jersey Medical School, the Center for Biophysical Pathology focuses on research, advocacy, and education related to the investigation of biophysical profiling and subcellular pleomorphism in cancer and other pathologic states to obtain diagnostic and prognostic information about these conditions. An additional goal is to enhance attempts to achieve a convergence of the disciplines of radiology and pathology.

The Center for Childhood Nutrition Research at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences improves the health of children through optimized nutrition, increased physical activity, and innovative, evidenced-based educational programs. The center provides a multidisciplinary program that integrates nutrition education, free play, and research to better understand how the culture of health can be improved and take steps at the state and national level to improve the health of children.

The Center for Community Health Partnerships is part of the School of Nursing and serves as a sustainable community-linked infrastructure designed to strengthen collaborative relationships and community engagement among academic investigators, community members, and local health care organizations. The center provides faculty, students, and community partners with the skills needed to conduct community-focused and community-partnered research.
