From Plan to Progress
Since 2021, the bold and intentional Academic Master Plan has guided Rutgers–New Brunswick toward a clearer, more purposeful future. Designed to focus our efforts and strengthen our commitment to academic excellence, inclusive research, and service to the common good, the plan laid the groundwork for transformative progress.
Grounded in four core pillars: Scholarly Leadership, Innovative Research, Student Success, and Community Engagement, it continues to shape how we teach, learn, and lead. It also serves as a blueprint for how a public university can meet the moment: by advancing knowledge, expanding opportunity, and improving lives on and off campus.
Now, four years in, its impact is becoming real. Faculty, students, staff, and alumni are putting our values into action—driving discovery, opening doors, and making a real difference. Together, we’re moving Rutgers forward with purpose, clarity, and momentum.
