New Student Convocation 2023

Kick off your Rutgers–New Brunswick experience by joining the New Student Convocation.

Convocation is a very special gathering of our newest Scarlet Knights which marks the beginning of your Rutgers career and student experience. We’ll celebrate your entry into the Rutgers community with special remarks by President Jonathan Holloway, Chancellor Francine Conway, and the Student Body President.

Learn about the "Knight's Call" from student leaders and get the road map to success at Rutgers.

After Convocation, students will meet members of the Rutgers Athletic Team, including Head Football Coach Greg Schiano, during a Spirit Rally, followed by Scarlet Carnivale, an outdoor carnival-inspired event with boardwalk games, laser tag, prizes, dinner, and much more.

Convocation and Scarlet Carnivale are for first-year students and new transfer students ONLY. Both events are mandatory.
