Field Sampling

Collecting accurate data is essential to the success of environmental projects. Without a strong understanding of quality assurance and control procedures, sample collection techniques, field notes in log books, completion of standard data sheets, and laboratory chains of custodies, field technicians may generate unsuitable data that is not representative of actual site conditions. This in turn can lead to data gaps and serious flaws in the environmental planning process to remediate contaminated soil, ground water, and surface waters for environmental compliance.

This class will give you the tools and knowledge you need to provide the project managers, supervisors, and senior level consultants in your organization with data they can rely on. This course will be particularly helpful for you if your job responsibilities include soil, ground water, and surface water sampling. Situations that can pose a challenge to collecting data and how to effectively address those challenges will also be discussed.

Featured topics include:

  • Field workplans
  • Quality Assurance Protection Plans (QAPPs) and Field Sampling Procedures Manual
  • Compliance with the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (Tech Rules, 7:26E et seq.) — Soil, Ground Water & Surface Water Sampling Techniques
  • Field observations, data recording, and the importance of relaying critical information to key decision makers (i.e., NJ LSRPs)

Workshop fee is $185 per person.
