Access and Inclusion: Understanding Barriers to Campus Care for Diverse Student Populations
This panel will explore the challenges students may face when navigating campus services and accommodations. Using the experiences of student veterans and students with autism as case examples, this panel will highlight how systemic barriers, stigma, and gaps in accessibility impact students’ ability to receive the care they need. The discussion will consider both structural and cultural factors that shape students’ experiences, as well as strategies for creating more inclusive and supportive campus environments. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how disability and identity intersect in higher education and what can be done to foster equity in campus care.
The panel will be held via Zoom and is free and open to faculty, staff, students, and the public. For more information, please contact Lauren Manley at lnm79@ssw.rutgers.edu.
