  • As part of the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station, the Rutgers Fruit and Ornamental Research Extension Center conducts and disperses research applicable to the production of high-quality trees and small fruits, including apples, peaches, apricots, nectarines, brambles, strawberries, and ornamental nursery crops. The center increases production efficiency and protects fruit crops against environmental and biological hazards, while decreasing production costs and pesticide use.

  • Rutgers Global is committed to leading, developing, and promoting international initiatives and education. The unit fosters global engagement that enriches the student experience, builds faculty excellence, and enhances Rutgers University’s national and international reputation as a preeminent teaching and research university. Rutgers Global nurtures the diversity of Rutgers and New Jersey, advances cross-cultural awareness, and cultivates citizens and leaders whose knowledge and skills can bridge the local and global.

  • Initiated by Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences to promote and coordinate work across the entire university, Rutgers Global Health Institute is a universitywide convener and catalyst. The institute works collaboratively to improve the health of the most vulnerable populations and develops solutions to critical health problems worldwide. By bridging Rutgers’ diverse strengths, the institute advances collaborative research, builds community-driven partnerships, and expands global health education across fields and professions.

  • Rutgers Global–International Student and Scholar Services is committed to providing superior services and enriching experiences for our international community. Rutgers Global supports the journeys of our international students and scholars, from arrival to graduation/completion and beyond. Core services include providing advice and counsel on U.S. immigration regulations and compliance, immigration application processing, cross-cultural and transition programming, advocacy, and outreach.

  • Rutgers Global–Study Abroad seeks to ensure that every Rutgers student has access to opportunities for global learning which are academically rigorous, degree-relevant, culturally transformative, and empower students for impact in local and global communities. Rutgers Global expands students’ global education through 180 study abroad and service-learning abroad programs.

  • As part of the Graduate School of Education, the Rutgers Institute for Improving Student Achievement provides professional development and executive-level training for continuous improvement in the achievement of all students through the combined efforts of Rutgers, Pre K-12 districts, corporate affiliates, other professional organizations, and community partners.

  • Rutgers Institute for Science and Technology Leadership in Africa (RISTLA) aims to foster higher education for scientific research and development, and to grow the infrastructure to educate a highly trained technical African workforce. Over the long-term, RISTLA will help to overcome the lack of a critical mass of African scientists and engineers that limits the industrial and agricultural productive capacity in many African countries. RISTLA focuses on building workforce capacity to meet the enormous demand for new technologies in Africa.

  • The Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science (RITMS) is an interdisciplinary program that combines expertise in cellular, molecular, genetic, and clinical science. RITMS maintains basic research laboratory space in the Child Health Institute of New Jersey building. RITMS sponsors several educational, research, and training programs for students, staff, and faculty across the university. These programs are designed to facilitate training and research across the translational divide, from the cellular level to clinical trials. In addition to these programs, the institute provides regular visiting professorships, a quarterly seminar series that highlights the best minds in translational research and several programs supporting the career development of junior faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students.

  • The Rutgers Molecular Imaging Core is an advanced facility established by the Office for Research and intended for use primarily by Rutgers faculty. Organizations outside of Rutgers may inquire about using the facility on a fee-for-service basis. The center offers non-invasive approaches to observe disease states, disease progression and therapeutic responses in living systems and ex vivo organs.

  • The Rutgers Noise Technical Assistance Center is part of the Air and Noise Pollution Training Program in the Department of Environmental Sciences at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. The center has trained thousands of investigators from across the United States in sound level measurement for the purposes of evaluating compliance with local or state noise codes.
