America Converges Here: The People of Rutgers

Dear Members of the Rutgers University–New Brunswick Community:

I recently introduced the America Converges Here initiative and have been impressed by how deeply this celebratory series has resonated within our community. This month, the America Converges Here project turns the spotlight to the people who are the heart of Rutgers.

America's future can be seen today across our campus – where over 50,000 students and 4,000 faculty, representing more than 100 countries and speaking more than 40 languages, unite to imbue Rutgers with their diversity of ideas and personal experiences. They arrive as individuals from every corner of the world, every state in the country, every county in New Jersey and even from right here in New Brunswick.

America converges here because of our people—and the multiplicity of our perspectives, experiences and achievements. A collective thread that we can be proud of is that each of us have found a community at Rutgers.
