Looking Forward to Another Great Semester!
September 3, 2019
Dear Rutgers University–New Brunswick Faculty and Staff:
The start of the fall semester is undoubtedly my favorite time of year. While our campus is always busy, there is nothing like the beginning of the school year and seeing the campus come alive with faculty and students. Of course, our hard-working staff is here year-round, and we owe a debt of gratitude for their continual hard work.
It has indeed been a busy summer. As you likely know, a new Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement, Dr. Enobong (Anna) Branch, began her work in August. She will guide our efforts to nurture and cultivate diversity and inclusion as key institutional values, strengthening our commitment to our diverse community on and off-campus. We also have continued to prioritize the career readiness of our students, worked on initiatives to better the student experience and continued the planning for this coming academic year.
Amid the bustle of a new semester, however, it's important to remember what Rutgers is all about—and why we are here. At its core, Rutgers is a place that changes the world for the better. From the classroom where knowledge is learned that will one day be used to solve global challenges to the research labs where professors and students alike dream of advances that will benefit society, we all play a role in this important work. I couldn’t be more grateful to you for your contributions.
Looking forward to a great semester ahead.
