Explore Fellowships

In addition to well-known fellowships, like the Fulbright Student Program, there are many other fellowships available to students from all class years, including graduate students and alumni. Use our fellowship selector tool to discover which fellowships are the right fit for you. Some fellowships require a Rutgers nomination or endorsement meaning you must first apply through the Office of Distinguished Fellowships at Rutgers–New Brunswick. There are also many fellowships that allow you to apply on your own. However, we still encourage all interested students to meet with our experts for support and advice throughout the application process.

  • The Truman Foundation identifies aspiring leaders at an important inflection point in their development – when they are college juniors – and recognize and reward their commitments to careers in public service. The Foundation reviews over 800 applications for their 55 to 65 Scholarships awarded annually. These applications do not include students who compete on their own campus for one of a school's four nominations.

"Public service means employment in: government at any level, the uniformed services, public interest organizations, non-governmental research and/or educational organizations, public and private schools, and public service oriented non-profit organizations such as those whose primary purposes are to help needy or disadvantaged persons or to protect the environment." -Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, Code of Federal Regulations

For official information about the scholarship, visit: https://www.truman.gov/
