• Limited Submission Awards

  The Robert A. Welch Award in Chemistry is designed “to foster and encourage basic chemical research and to recognize, in a substantial manner, the value of chemical research contributions for the benefit of mankind.”	January	January
  The Packard Fellowship for Science and Engineering provides support for unusually creative researchers early in their careers.	January	February
  The Case/Carnegie U.S. Professor of The Year program recognizes faculty members for their achievements in teaching undergraduates.	February	March
  The Andrew W. Mellon New Directions Fellowship provides support for faculty members of exceptional quality in the Humanities and humanistic social sciences whose research would benefit from acquiring systematic training outside of their own discipline.	May	August
  The Neh Summer Stipend Program provides scholars with an opportunity to pursue research in the humanities that contributes to scholarly knowledge or to the public’s understanding of the humanities.	May	July
  The Searle Scholars Program supports exceptional young scholars pursuing independent research careers in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and related areas in chemistry, medicine, and biological sciences.	June	July
  The Pew Scholars Program In The Biomedical Sciences supports young investigators of outstanding promise in basic and clinical sciences relevant to the advancement of human health.	May	September
  The Microsoft Research Faculty Fellowship stimulates and supports creative research by promising researchers who have the potential of making a profound impact on the state of the art in their research discipline.	August	September
  The National Blavatnik Awards For Young Scientists recognize high impact and innovative accomplishments in the life sciences, physical sciences and engineering, and chemistry.	August	September
  The Blavatnik Awards For Young Scientists (Regional) identify the country’s most promising faculty-rank scientists age 42 years or younger in three categories: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering.	August	November
  The Ho-Am Prize recognizes outstanding achievements in research in the areas of basic science, engineering, technology, medicine and pharmacy, and outstanding contributions to culture and the arts.	August	September
  The Simons Investigators Programs in Mathematics, Physics & Theoretical Computer Science, and Mathematical Modeling of Living Systems provide long-term research funding to outstanding scientists.	October	October
  The Mellon Sawyer Seminars bring together faculty members, foreign visitors, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students from a variety of fields mainly the humanities (including the arts, anthropology, social psychology, and political theory).	December	March

  The Harvey Prize (Israel Institute Of Technology) recognizes significant breakthroughs in science and technology.	January	February
  The Russ Berrie Award (Ramapo College Of New Jersey) recognizes the “unsung heroes” in New Jersey who have made uncommon contributions to the common good.	January	February
  The Balzan Prize (International Balzan Foundation) recognizes outstanding scholarly work in medieval history, sociology, quantum information processing and communication, and infectious diseases: basic and clinical aspects.	January	March
  The James Madison Graduate Fellowship offers pre-service (as well as in-service) teachers of government and history up to $24,000 to complete a Master’s degree in fields related to the U.S. Constitution.	January	March
  The Holberg International Memorial Prize recognizes outstanding scholarly work in the fields of the arts and humanities, social science, law and theology.	March	June
  Fellowship Opportunity At Durham University’s Institute of Advanced Study to catalyze new ideas by bringing together internationally recognized academics as well as writers, artists and practitioners.	April	June
  The Tel Aviv University International Prize in Biophysics prize is intended to promote originality and excellence of research in the field of biophysics.	April	June
  The Frederic W. Ness Book Award recognizes a book that contributes to the understanding and improvement of liberal education at the college level.	April	May
  The HHMI, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and The Simons Foundation Competition will strengthen the community of basic researchers and physician scientists who bring innovative approaches to the study of biological problems.	April	July
  The BBVA Foundations Frontiers of Knowledge Awards recognize significant scientific advances of a theoretical or empirical nature, technological innovations and developments, and creations of outstanding works or singular performing styles in contemporary music.	May	June
  The ACLS Fellowship Competition offers fellowship programs that promote the full spectrum of humanities and humanistic social sciences research and supports scholars at the advanced graduate student level through all stages of the academic career.	July (Deadlines Vary by Program)
  The Tyler Prize For Environmental Achievements honors achievements and contributions in the fields of environmental science, environmental protection, energy and medicine.	August	September
  The Dan David Prize is awarded to individuals and institutions with proven, exceptional excellence and contribution to humanity in the sciences, arts, humanities, public service and business.	August	November
  The Kavli Prize (The Norwegian Academy of Science And Letters) recognizes outstanding scientific achievements in astrophysics, nanoscience, and neuroscience.	August	December
  The Robert Foster Cherry Award For Great Teaching is designed to honor outstanding classroom communicators while bringing some of the best teachers in the English-speaking world to the Baylor University Campus.	September	November
  The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Prize In Physical Sciences (Tel-Aviv University) encourages dedication to science, originality, and excellence by rewarding outstanding young scientists.	September	November
  Jefferson Science Fellows Competition winners serve for one year at the U.S. Department of State or USAID as science and technology advisors on foreign policy issues.	November	January
