Submit Nominations for the Chancellor's Student Leadership Awards

Dear Rutgers–New Brunswick Faculty,

I am pleased to announce the fourth consecutive year of the Provost’s Teaching Fellows Program (PTF), which supports faculty advancement and the success of our students by encouraging the adoption of new teaching practices and redesigned courses.

Additionally, I am excited to announce the collaboration this year of PTF with Rutgers’ Teaching Excellence Network (TEN) Course Transformation Summer Institute.

Chosen faculty will participate in a three-week summer program to explore different pedagogies, develop a teaching portfolio that incorporates practices from the education literature, and create a course transformation plan with guidance from a network of education professionals across Rutgers–New Brunswick. Participating faculty will also receive continued professional support throughout the academic year in implementing their course transformations.

Participants will receive a $3,500 stipend and $2,000 in research/professional development funds to focus their teaching, join a community of educators interested in course transformation, and evaluate their course transformations during the 2024-25 academic year.

In presenting this outstanding opportunity I am inspired by a prior participant in the Summer Institute who said, “Even in Ph.D. programs they don’t teach you how to teach. The program was exactly what I was looking for to give me the background. It’s what all instructors need.”

All interested faculty should apply for this opportunity, which aligns with the Academic Master Plan goals of elevating Rutgers–New Brunswick’s scholarly leadership of intellectual communities that support our diverse populations, and transforming the student experience.
