Rutgers Center and Institute Director Summit

On April 7, 2025, Rutgers hosted the inaugural Rutgers Center and Institute Summit. This Summit aims to celebrate and illuminate the diverse, innovative work happening across our research landscape.

Mission

This gathering serves as a platform for center and institute leaders to connect, share experiences, and explore collaborative opportunities with the objective of deepening the role of centers and institutes in the work of the university. Through open dialogue, shared learning, and strategic planning, this Summit aims to elevate the collective impact of Rutgers' centers and institutes, fostering a culture of excellence that advances our research mission and contributes to solving complex societal challenges.

Goals

By bringing together faculty directors and key staff, we seek to:

1. Celebrate center and institute contributions in research, teaching, and service, and develop strategies to deepen these activities
2. Strengthen the network of centers and institutes across Rutgers
3. Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange
4. Identify challenges that keep centers and institutes from doing the work they want to do
