Executive Search: Dean of the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology

Rutgers–New Brunswick is seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as Dean of the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). Recognized nationally for its excellence in education, research, and clinical training, GSAPP prepares psychologists who are deeply committed to advancing mental health and well-being across diverse communities. The school bridges scientific knowledge and professional practice to address some of society’s most pressing challenges, and equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in fields of mental and behavioral health. We seek a dynamic leader who will champion GSAPP’s mission, foster innovation, and expand its reach and impact locally, nationally, and globally.

  • The search committee was formed by the Office of the Chancellor in collaboration with the leadership of the school and with the aim of creating a broad and representative group. The primary role of the committee will be to develop the leadership profile, aid in the evaluation of the candidates, interview potential candidates, and make a recommendation to the chancellor.

  • Listening sessions for members of the GSAPP community will take place during Fall 2025. Dates and registration links will be announced here.

  • Your input is vital to ensure the selection process reflects the values and priorities of our community. We invite you to share your feedback through an anonymous survey.

  • The leadership profile provides an overview of the School of Communication and Information’s academic and operational ecosystem and summarizes the qualities and qualifications required of successful candidates for the role of dean.

    Feedback from the community will be collected to develop a comprehensive leadership profile. It will be posted here upon completion.

  • Members of the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology community will be cordially invited to meet the GSAPP dean finalist candidates at a series of community forums. These forums will be an opportunity for you to hear directly from the candidates about their interest in the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, and to learn more about them through a moderated Q&A session.
