With Gratitude from Chancellor Conway

Dear Rutgers–New Brunswick Community,

At the start of this semester, I encouraged you to join me in a Compassion Challenge—to show one act of kindness each day for a month and observe how it changes you and creates a thriving community.
 
As we move toward Thanksgiving and the holidays, I invite you again to consider author and educator Kendra Cherry’s list of 10 methods for practicing compassion—particularly expressing gratitude and appreciation.
 
Let’s take note of big and small opportunities to feel thankful. And express thanks, in whatever ways feel right, to those who touch our lives and improve the world.

I’ll start by thanking each of you—the students, faculty, and staff who contribute to Rutgers–New Brunswick’s culture of open inquiry, knowledge discovery, and community building. Your dedication and talent have positioned us as a national model for higher education, and help us bring pragmatic, actionable solutions to meet local, national, and global needs.
