COACHE Survey Faculty Recommendations

Dear Rutgers–New Brunswick Faculty,

I want to thank all of you who were able to attend one of three recent town hall meetings in which the COACHE Working Group presented recommendations to address the critical areas identified in the COACHE survey.

As you know, the COACHE survey, administered for the first time at Rutgers–New Brunswick in Spring 2019, is an important tool in helping us identify points of strength and concern that will inform decisions as we work to improve areas critical to faculty success. Following the completion of the survey, a 20-member COACHE Working Group composed of representatives from across the academic units (including the New Brunswick libraries), and from the Faculty Council, was convened. Since its first meeting in Fall 2020, this working group has met regularly to review the survey results and make recommendations in three key areas identified by the survey: Faculty Development and Mentoring; Research Support and Infrastructure; and Strategic Planning, Shared Governance and Communications. I am very grateful for their contributions to this important project.

If you were not able to attend a town hall meeting, I encourage you to review the presentation and recorded video, now posted on the COACHE web page. As a Rutgers faculty member, your engagement in this process is crucial, and we continue to welcome your feedback and suggestions regarding the working group recommendations.

Our next steps will be to further review and refine the recommendations made by the COACHE Working Group while engaging in conversations about how we can best align resources to bring about meaningful change. We will continue to keep you up to date on our progress, and I encourage you to check back to the COACHE page often.
