The Honors College Experience
The Honors College offers an enriched learning-living experience, combining rigorous academics, a diverse and inclusive community, and a deep network of support designed to help you grow as a thinker, collaborator, and leader. Through faculty and peer mentorship, exposure to research, service, global learning, and professional development, you'll test ideas in the real world and build connections that extend far beyond the classroom. Residency is encouraged, but not required, allowing students to tailor the experience to their needs.
The Honors College offers an interdisciplinary and collaborative curriculum, including mission courses emphasizing social impact and cross-cultural understandings and service, designed to complement and connect with your academic school and degree program.
Research is integral to the Honors College experience. First-year students are exposed to research and artistry opportunities from the beginning and advance through specialized, faculty-supervised Capstone projects in their senior year.
Specialized resources and programs, including extensive student leadership development opportunities, help students clarify academic and career goals and choose academic tracks and extracurriculars that will enhance their professional portfolio and network, while empowering them to make successful career and graduate school transitions.
The Honors College offers dedicated additional funding for study abroad programs for students looking to take their education international.
Through the Office of Distinguished Fellowships, Honors College students can pursue some of the most prestigious fellowships in the world, including the Goldwater, Mitchell, Fulbright, Luce, and Gates-Cambridge.
Admission to the Honors College is competitive and based on a holistic review of academics, extracurricular activities, and the applicant pool. You must apply by December 1 and complete the honors consideration question and essay.
