Creating Systems Change to Advance Disability Inclusion: The Inclusive Healthy Communities grant program and PSE Change

Individual accommodations open a door once; systems change keeps it open, even after the funding ends. This session makes the case for centering systems change in disability-inclusion work, showing how policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) strategies move communities beyond one-off fixes toward accessibility that lasts. Using real examples from Inclusive Healthy Communities (IHC) grantees, we'll look at the policy and systems changes they achieved, what made those changes stick once grant dollars were gone, and how macro-level work strengthens direct-service and advocacy efforts. You'll leave with practical ideas for building systems change that outlives its funding into your own disability-rights portfolio.
